CRES: – Centre for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving – is the Greek national centre for Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Rational Use of Energy (RUE) and Energy Saving (ES) with the general objective to promote RE, RUE and ES. CRES main activities include research & development, demonstration, energy information systems, feasibility studies, technical and economic studies, market research & promotional activities.

Within HERCCULES, CRES contributes in:

- WP1 entitled “Project Management and Quality Control” for the implementation of all the envisaged management project objectives.
- WP8 entitled “Social perception and community engagement” as a local regional association to support the work of WP8 in Greece and analyze community public perception and citizen engagement.
- WP10 entitled “Communication, dissemination and knowledge sharing” to organize and conduct dissemination events.

The most relevant CCUS projects where CRES is and has been involved in, are: 

- MOF4AIR – Horizon 2020 project aiming to develop and demonstrate the performances of MOF-based CO2 capture technologies in power plants and energy intensive industries.- https://www.mof4air.eu/

- G.A.M.E.S. – Interreg Greece – Albania 2014-2020 project aiming at a wide methodological framework of actions to inform society and especially students and youth in numerous cities of the cross-border region of Greece - Albania.- https://www.in-games.eu/en/

- PELAGOS – Interreg MED 2014-2020 project aiming to increase the innovation capacity of its members, support research and innovation in the Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) sector and foster linkages and collaborations among all the stakeholders of the Quadruple Helix (business- academia public- citizens).- www.be-cluster.eu
